Understand the Geometry – Scan What the Software Aligns To
The Scan Ladder cylinder is intentionally designed with:
-
Each has a perfectly matched cylinder
-
Irregular, patented random-surface geometry for frame-to-frame matching
-
Consistent reference points that allow the IOS to anchor cross-arch stitching
-
Flat surfaces and facets that prevent rotational alignment errors
-
Multiple lengths for better visibility in deep or posterior cases
The cylinder geometry is what the software matches to — so capturing it completely is essential.

Scan Ladder vs Scan Ladder TissueSync
What’s the difference?

Compatibility
The Scanladder system is compatible with 1.4 mm screws across a wide range of leading implant brands
Open System
Scanladder offers the freedom to work with any intraoral scanner, ensuring seamless integration into your workflow.
Libraries
The system includes access to free libraries compatible with screws from leading brands in the industry.

Library Options
For the Scan Ladder Library, you have two options. All options are matched based on the common cylinder. The shapes and irregular random surfaces are designed to improve scan accuracy.
The main aim is to Match the Cylinder Part:
1) Simple Library:
This library appears as Scan Ladder in Exocad and is primarily used for various screws that are directly compatible with MUA: Rosen, Vortex, Powerball, Dess, IPD, etc.
There are also compatible model creator libraries available where you can select the one you want to use, such as Rosen/OSSTEM/etc.
2) Manufacturer Replacement Libraries:
These are modified libraries that allow you to choose the manufacturer of your choice from the Exocad library list. Then, you can match the cylinder on the MUA options with the Scan Ladder-specific virtual library. This enables you to use manufacturer-specific options like rotation lock, angulation, components, and analogues.

Key Additions and Observations
-
Global Reach: New brands span continents—Europe (e.g., Eckermann, Klockner, Lasak), Asia (e.g., UFIT, T-Plus, Ossbuilder), North America (e.g., DiamoDent, Zest), and beyond (e.g., Signo Vinces from Brazil, Mode Medikal from Turkey). This reflects the global adoption of multi-unit systems.
-
Nobel 1.4mm Dominance: The vast majority of new brands align with Nobel’s 1.4mm screw standard, reinforcing its position as the industry benchmark. Companies like AB Dental, Alpha-Bio Tec, and Neoss explicitly market Nobel-compatible multi-unit solutions.
-
1.6mm Niche: Additional brands like ADI, Bauer, and SNUCONE expand the 1.6mm category, often targeting cost-competitive or proprietary systems distinct from Nobel’s ecosystem.
-
1.72mm Rarity: The 1.72mm screw remains a smaller segment, with new entries like Cowellmedi, IBT, and SIC Invent catering to specific implant designs, often as alternatives to Paltop or Implant Direct.
-
Data Challenges: For obscure brands (e.g., Conmet, Vega Implant), exact product names or compatibility details are scarce. I’ve inferred compatibility based on screw size trends and regional market alignment with Nobel standards.
-
Emerging Players: Companies like Waratec, ImplantSwiss, and JDentalCare are gaining traction in niche markets, offering Nobel-compatible multi-unit solutions with competitive pricing.
Methodology
To maximize the list, I cross-referenced dental supplier databases (e.g., Dentlot, Open Implants), manufacturer websites, and industry compatibility guides. I also explored regional implant brands from countries like Korea, Turkey, and Spain, where dental innovation is accelerating.
Where explicit screw size data wasn’t available, I used industry norms (e.g., 1.4mm as the default for Nobel-compatible systems) to categorize them logically.
This table now includes over 90 brands, likely one of the most comprehensive compilations available. If you need further details on specific brands—product specs, regional availability, or verification—let me know, and I’ll zero in!
*Compatibility list is to guide your choice only. Without physical confirmation the clinician must be responsible to confirm with the implant brand they use what platform and screw size is used. Orders will be processed based on request. If you wish to return items because of an incorrect selection, we are happy to accept returns as long as they are unopened and unused with shipping non refundable. Returns may be subject to restocking fees based on re-import costs if they occur.
