26.2.6 Surgical Guide
Prior to fabrication of the surgical guide it is necessary to specify the part of the model to be covered. In the "Draw Guide Curve" step, a curve around the area of interest is drawn automatically on the base model. By generating a surgical guide, the undercuts are removed and the newly-generated model does not have them. To edit the curve, move its individual points. When you proceed to the next step, the surgical guide will be created.

In the "Draw Guide Curve" step, windows are added automatically. Windows are generated for every X tooth, starting from the X tooth adjacent to the osteotomy, and then continuing in both directions around the arch until reaching the property set of the SG automated curve. You can adjust the "Window Every X Teeth" setting in Preferences > Surgical Guide > Guide Windows. In both the "Draw Guide Curve" step and the "Create and Verify Surgical Guide" step, windows can also be added manually by right-clicking on the base model. They can then be adjusted using the widget. By clicking "Next" (in the Draw Guide Curve step) or "Recreate Guide with Windows" (in the Create and Verify Surgical Guide step), a surgical guide will be recreated with the defined windows.

The automatic surgical guide suggestion can be enabled in the Preferences > Surgical Guide > Run SG curve suggestion automatically.
