EVENT ITINERARY

DAY 1: Step-by-Step Case Demonstration

Friday, Jan. 27. 2023 | 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

In this part of the course, we will discuss and plan a mandibular screw-retained overdenture case while identifying both potential challenges & solutions.

You will also learn:

  • • Learn the principles of atraumatic extractions, bone grafting, and implant placement
  • • Understand the properties of bone graft materials and the use of membranes in grafting procedures
  • • Understand the process of oral wound healing
  • • Describe the biological basis of osseointegration
  • • Read CBCT scans with confidence
  • • Select the proper implant for each use
  • • Address surgical and prosthetic complications
  • Q & A session & closing remarks

DAY 2: Model SX on Sheep Jaw & Hands-on Surgery

Sunday, Jan. 29. 2023 | 9:00 am-6:00 pm

In this part of the course, attendees will practice placing implants on sheep jaw as well as all-on-x implants on a real patient under the assistance of Dr. Mikhli.

You will also learn:

  • • Set up motor, hand-piece, and surgical kits
  • LIVE patient implant surgery
  • Model SX on sheep jaw
  • Q & A session & closing remarks

DAY 3: Restorative-Driven TX Planning & Guide Design with Blue Sky Bio Software (ONLINE)

Sunday, Feb. 5. 2023 | 9:00 am-6:00 pm

In this part of the course, we will explore the entire workflow plan and design an implant overdenture guide, from start to finish. We will show you how to process this digitally and incorporate it with CBCT and intraoral scans.

You will also learn:

  • • Understand the indications, guidelines, and protocols for guided surgery and case planning
  • • Understand the science behind surgical guides
  • • Learn what two sets of data are needed to produce an accurate guide and how to acquire these data
  • Utilize hands-on software training to merge model scans to CBCT and design the surgical guide
  • "Crown Down" Implant treatment planning utilizing CAD/CAM
  • • Learn where to get an affordable 3D printer that can make an accurate surgical guide
  • • Select the right cases to maximize success and build confidence
  • Q & A session & closing remarks

All participants will earn 24 CE credits issued by the Academy of General Dentistry upon completion of this course.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Robert J. Mikhli, DDS

Dr. Robert Mikhli, DDS is a top-rated dentist providing dental implants at Precision Implant Care, located in Brooklyn, NY’s Midwood neighborhood and New York City.

He is praised both for his expert skill and ability to put patients at ease, including those who have avoided going to the dentist in years.

Originally from Cleveland, Dr. Mikhli has made New York his home since attending Yeshiva University in Manhattan, where he graduated in 2004 with a BA in Economics. He went on to earn his dental degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in Stony Brook, NY followed by a residency in general practice dentistry at New York Hospital of Queens and a fellowship in oral and maxillofacial surgery and implantology, also at New York Hospital of Queens. The fellowship program provided Dr. Mikhli with extensive training in the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry.

In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Mikhli is a recognized expert in implantology, who lectures extensively on the topic to other dental professionals throughout the Tri-state area.

He also runs an in-office mentorship program for general dentists, providing hands-on instruction in implant surgery. Dr. Mikhli is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologist.
